Scrapbooking for New Moms

Credits: Sonja Rodriguez

I gave birth to my first scrapbook after 17 months of labor. It was so traumatic I didn't start another one for years. Today, it takes me less than 2 hours to finish a WHOLE album. How?

I switched to digital scrapbooking.

I create the scrapbook pages on my PC - no sticky glue, stickers, messy cutouts, markers, punches - then I print them out into a beautiful tabletop conversation-piece album.

Scrapbooking the traditional (read snail-pace slow) way is just not sustainable for busy families. You get so far behind you stop altogether. In the time it used to take me to clean up and put away the hole puncher, the stickers, paper scraps, rub-ons, ribbons, brads and so on… I can finish a digital album today.

Another reason I prefer digital scrapbooking? Remember my first scrapbook that took 17 months (old way)? It's tucked away safely in the closet lest grimy fingers or unforgiving coffee stains get on it. Now, since I create my albums digitally, I can print out as many books as I want, one for safe-keeping, one for the living room, family room, bathroom, grandparents, school… well, you get the idea.
